From Rijeka the coach runs south onto the Istrian peninsula toward Pula. The Arena anchors the visit: a substantial Roman amphitheatre that still dominates the town’s identity, alongside other classical remains in the historic centre.
Rovinj follows — a former island settlement joined to the mainland, with a compact old town climbing toward the church of St Euphemia and a harbour that photographs beautifully in almost any light.
